Sketching is the Artist Workout.
I wanted to be a Scientific Illustrator.
This was my original goal when I was in my teens. I still want to be an illustrator and any chance I get to freelance, I take it. Tattooing is cool but it demands a set of rules to follow that hinder the realism effect, or so I thought.
The technical ability achieved though modern cartridge machines has open the possibilities for the last decade. I was to stubborn to see it. Now that I am rebooting my career, I act as if I know nothing about tattooing. Maybe I don't anymore.
My next phase of tattooing, I will follow the talented "0black and grey" tattooist. To do this requires me to study. I have to relearn so much about tattooing and smash the walls that I have created.
Here is some sketches I did Christmas Eve. It is back to the basics for me.
