Lessons Learned
My SELFJournal has a few parts to it. There is an opening of the day that includes writing your Itinerary, a Gratitude lList, Targets and daily Goals. Upon closing the day, you write Lessons Learned, Wins and another Gratitude List.
The journal has helped me to take a daily inventory of myself and my actions. What has surprised be the most is using the Lessons Learned section. The journal has helped me to take a daily inventory. This requires honesty and a fair assessment of my actions. I don’t think there is a wrong way to do it because just the act of writing is a step in a positive direction.
Last night I shared with my wife the entries from the last few weeks. It was fun to see that I am still learning. I want to make the most of this time on planet earth. It would be foolish to think that I have figured everything out.
Enjoy a peek into my brain:
“I need to prioritize my projects .GOALS! Decide what is a hobby and what is a career.”
“I have too many things to do and I need to set realistic goals.”
“A little bit of action goes a long way.”
“Less is More. It Is better to finish projects than light a bunch of fires.”
“Always leave room for naps on the weekends”
“I doubt myself. Sometimes I wonder why I can’t be happy and just tattoo. I must keep believing in my ideas.”
“On a busy tattoo day, don’t plan on doing much more than tattooing!”
“Stay flexible. Don’t worry about what you planned. Roll with what you got!”
“When you make a mistake, Correct it. Also, enjoy food with friends.”
“Sometimes the most annoying people end up being the best conversations.”
